Robert Geis Freund, P.E. (University of Texas BSME ’57)
President/CEO - Freund Enterprises, Inc.
With a BSME from The University of Texas in 1985, Matt joined EDS as an engineer in Michigan. In 1991, Matt moved back to Austin to pursue a MSME and started working for Sulzer Carbomedics. He joined CAE in 2000 to help develop the Design/Build division and was elected to be our President/CEO in 2001.
Freund Enterprises, Inc.
Growing up in the family business, Andrea has logged the most hours compared to her 2nd generation peers. Her knowledge of our software and customers makes her a valuable asset to our operations and is the first one to have a 3rd generation employee, Clint Wurzbach- Project Manager.
VP, Service Sales
A Texas-EX in 1990 with a BBA in marketing, Pat worked as a Business Development Manager with Frito-Lay and Ozarka Water, before moving on to C2Media. In April of 2000, Pat joined CAE to head up the marketing and is now responsible for the service sales of both Comfort-Air and Primo Plumbing.
VP, Construction Sales
The most passionate of Longhorns, Tom graduated from Texas in 1993 with a BA. Growing up, Tom has had many different responsibilities over his tenure, mostly in accounting and service. So, in 2010, it was decided to let him try his hand at Construction sales and has found his calling, being responsible for all construction estimation.
Mike joined CAE in 1991, quickly working his way up from the field to Superintendent, to Project Manager, to the leader of Construction Operations for both CAE and PPI. In addition, Mike serves as our IT Manager.
Hired as a service tech in 1985, Victor excelled in the technical aspects of HVAC&R repair work and worked his way into management in 1998. Victor is responsible for technical training and HVAC service for CAE.
Service Operations Manager
Hired initially as a helper in 2005, Daniel was a quick learner and took pride in his workmanship and customer service. He was promoted to a service tech in 2008, providing service maintenance and diagnostics to our residential customer base. In December of 2011, Daniel was promoted to Replacement Manager and is now Service Operations Manager.
Plumbing Service Manager
Hired as a service plumber in 2008, Keith came to Primo Plumbing with 17 years’ experience and has been instrumental in growing our service department over the past 3 years. Keith is still requested by our customers and sometimes works in the field, but is quickly learning that by teaching his plumbers, everyone’s life gets better. Keith earned his master license (M#40229) in January, 2012.
Residential Service Manager
Eric joined Comfort-Air as a residential service tech in February of 2001 after serving 20 years in the United States Navy. After five Navy vessels and numerous visits to ports in Europe, Africa, Australia and the Western Pacifi; Eric maintains that he would have eventually caught Osama Bin Laden himself if he'd stayed in the navy. Eric was recently promoted to Lead Trainer in our HVAC service department as our Quality Assurance manager.
Justin has always enjoyed doing anything mechanical/technical. He built his first computer at 15 years old and re-built his first car engine at 21. Justin worked in the HVAC industry for 3 years before finding his home at Comfort-Air Eng. in 2012. Starting out as an junior mechanic, Justin asked many questions and sought out any training classes available that would better himself and his career, acquiring his NATE certification, ACCA manual d/j certification, OSHA 10, and various other certifications. Justin was promoted to Senior mechanic in 2014 and was recently promoted to Replace Manager.
Our most tenured employee, Bob has over 38 years with Comfort-Air and has worked in all aspects of the business. Now, it’s time to expand his responsibilities to include plumbing. Bob is very well respected in the construction industry and always has a “Can Do” attitude. He is a PM for both Comfort-Air and Primo Plumbing.
Our first 3rd Generation employee, Clint graduated from Texas Tech in 2006 with a BSME. Clint joined Zachry Construction upon graduation where he cut his teeth on large industrial projects doing planning and coordinating. Clint brings energy and technology to our construction department. He is a Construction Manager for both Comfort-Air and Primo Plumbing.
Customer Service Manager
Brad was initially hired to support service sales, but quickly showed leadership and a passion for customer service. He has now been promoted to Commercial Account Manager where he is responsible for account managing for our preferred commercial maintenance accounts and acquiring new Commercial Accounts. Brad graduated from Texas Tech University with a BS in 2009.
Commercial Account Manager
Drew Scroggins is a graduate from University of Texas at San Antonio in Finance, where he began his career at Frost bank. While in school, he worked for his father at Scroggins A/C Service doing installs and learning about the industry. After working for2 years at Frost Bank, Drew decided to get back into the HVAC industry and left Frost Bank to be an Inside Salesperson at Insco Distributing. With 7 years’ experience in the HVAC industry, Drew joined Comfort-Air Eng in January of 2016 as a commercial account manager.
Residential/Commercial Planned Maintenance Sales
Mark has 22 years’ experience in the retail sales and finance industry, is often described as an entrepreneur, never meeting someone he didn’t like. Mark joined Freund Enterprises in January 2011 and is responsible for managing our preferred commercial maintenance accounts and acquiring new Commercial Accounts.
With over 30 years’ experience in residential and commercial plumbing, including owning his own business, Precision Plumbing, Tommy played a major role in Comfort-Air being able to birth Primo Plumbing in September, 2007. Currently, Tommy is our Responsible Master Plumber of record, M#18351.
Residential and Light Commercial Sales Manager
With over 15 years’ experience in new home sales and HVAC replacement sales, David knows what makes a home comfortable and energy efficient. A graduate of Building Performance Institute, David manages our outside residential and light commercial sales force. He graduated from Texas Tech in 1992 with a BS degree.
Commercial HVAC Sales
Working part time for CAE while he was finishing school, Jeff has over 4 years’ experience in service sales and estimating. He graduated with a BBA from UTSA in 2008.
Residential and Commercial Plumbing
Phil has 25 years’ experience in the plumbing trade since beginning his career shortly after graduating from Judson High School. Phil is experienced in slab and underground leaks, sewer breaks, and boilers in both commercial and residential applications. Phil received him Master Plumbing license in 2008 (#M39145) and is responsible for our plumbing service sales.
Residential HVAC Sales
Alex served our country proud for 20 years in the U.S. Navy, with special training in Avionics. After retiring, Alex jumped into the business world, from the automobile industry to mortgage and insurance, and has over 30 years of Sales experience, even starting his own business at one point. He ventured into the HVAC industry in 2010, doing outside sales and helping start a new franchise in Houston. Alex joined Comfort-Air in 2015 and is a Comfort Sales Specialist.
